How the assistant tells shoppers whether a size or colour is available.

The assistant checks your live catalogue, variant by variant. When a shopper asks "do you have the olive in medium?", it tells them whether that exact variant is in stock or sold out.
It doesn't see stock quantities, so it never says "only 2 left". It won't promise restock dates either.
